WELCOME TO FOCUS!!
Welcome, first-years, sophomores, transfer students, and Eli Whitney students!
Dear Class of 2028,
Welcome home! We’re so excited to have you with us!
FOCUS on New Haven is a Camp Yale Program, organized by Dwight Hall, for first-years, sophomores, transfer students, and Eli Whitney students interested in learning about community engagement, social justice, and activism!
Participants spend four days volunteering at local non-profits, meeting local change-makers, and discussing how systems of oppression play out in the relationship between Yale and New Haven. Students will explore New Haven’s diverse neighborhoods, taste their way through delicious restaurants, and soak up the city’s unique culture, all while forging friendships within their FOCUS families. Our hope is for students to walk away from the program with an understanding of the ways they can make a sustainable impact on the city Yale calls home.
We’re looking forward to meeting you all in August! In the meantime, check out some of our favorite memories on instagram (@FOCUSonNewHaven)! Also, poke around our website for more information! If you have any questions, please email us at focus@dwighthall.org. Thank you!
